Works great, wish it wasn't tapered

Screwed right on my hose, my hose is a powertec, 20 buck 10 foot hose. It is tapered so it doesn't push as far on as I like but with suction for dust collector it's not falling off. Huge advantage not using clamps for 8 bucks, heck ya! Work with woodcrafts hoses, may get one (flexaust) 5 to one compression or something and will take up less room than what I have. Nice product

    Works Great for Me!

When I first tried it in my shop I thought "Junk!" However, it is a little bit of a challenge to get the threads started, but once it starts, it secures in nicely. I'm looking to add more to my shop.

    Great Idea Too! (Iffy Execution.)

I bought this item to complement the 12" x 12" contractor saw dust extraction fitting (item #805O09), as both have the same tapered fitting dimensions. However, as I said about affixing the dust chute to this fitting: "The tapered "Port", when combined with the matching tapered quick disconnect 4" O.D. Dust Collection Fitting (item #140259) will work - if you use either a rubber band for a friction fit (if you regularly need to move it to more than one machine), or, with a suitable adhesive (such as E-6000) if you're never going to move it again. So, yes, I would recommend this to a fellow woodworker with the appropriate forgoing modifications. In fact, I may try affixing the rubber band to the inside of the 4" quick disconnect - if that doesn't interfere with connecting it to the straight, un-tapered, 4" hose to 2¼" fitting connector I also need to use."

    Didn't work for me

Bought to use on a Dewalt DW734 planer. Only fit onto exhaust port about 1/2 inch. Fell off and broke.

    I will buy more

it was a little hard to atach to the hose, but with a little dish soap it went on. my only problem is that it dosent stay on the port. I have to use bailing wire to keep it connected to my power tools. I may try sanding at least one to see if it will go in the port a little farther and hold on its own.

    4

I was looking for something to solve the problem of connecting 4" flex hose to 4" gates for dust collection and to the 4" collector on the stand I purchased from Woodcraft.

    Useless for my hose

Uh, the threads are left-hand and backwards for my heavy duty hose which is right-hand wound, so it will not screw on. Suggest putting this in the product description

    It works, but.........

The end that goes over a 4" hard pipe is tapered, and only slides onto the pipe about 1/2". And because it's tapered, it's not a good fit, and wants to come loose. I had to tape it to the pipe to get it to stay.

    Would buy again.

Works with my dust collection system and saved time when changing tools.
