You will learn how to use templates for consistent and repeatable component piece completion. You will then assemble those components into your own backyard masterpiece. Once you have completed this class you will be able to use these techniques to build additional Adirondack chairs for yourself, friends and relatives. Tools used during this class will include the Table Saw, Band Saw, Miter Saw, Spindle and Disk Sander, Router and Drill Driver.

Description: There is something about the spicy odor and taste of freshly ground pepper corns which makes ordinary pepper seem dull and nearly tasteless. You will finish a pepper mill from a square block of wood and a pepper mill mechanism. This class will utilize and develop spindle turning skills.

Table Saw Basics & Techniques with Terry Nielsen

Description: Terry will teach you how to use a table saw safely and accurately. Each student will have the opportunity to practice many table saw operations including cross cutting, ripping and taper cuts. The student will also make a basic crosscut sled. Terry will go over how to install the sliders so their sled will make accurate crosscuts. He will discuss the advantages/disadvantages of the various types of sliders available so the student can decide which type suits their needs and make a purchase accordingly.

Prerequisite: Completion Of Either Intro To Woodworking I, Intro To Cabinet Making Or Consent Of Instructor.
Tools Required: Relief Carving Tools
Class Size: 4 - 6
Description: In this class, the Student will expand upon what they have already learned by using the bandsaw and router, in addition to the tools learned in the previous class, to build a Shaker Side Table. The student will learn how to make the mortise and tenon joint using the Festool Domino tool, a simple Dovetail Drawer, as well as how to add a taper to a leg.
