Flexcut® KN500 Carving Knife Starter Set is constructed from high quality spring steel, tempered to a hardness of RC 59-61, and fitted with tremendously comfortable curved ergonomic ash handles, these knives perform marvelously and hold an edge. Flexcut carving set has everything you need from start to finish including a cutting knife, detail carving knife, roughing knife and polishing compound. This kit is great for those carving projects that require different styles of detail.
The Flexcut KN12 Cutting Knife features a 1 1/4" long blade that is beveled. The blade comes to an rounded point which is great for making gradual curves and straight lines with large chips. The Flexcut KN13 Detail Carving Knife features a 1-1/2" long blade that is straight. The blade comes to a fine point which is great for making detailed cuts that are very narrow. The Flexcut KN14 Roughing Knife features a 1-3/4" long blade that is straight. The blade comes to a rounded durable point which is great for duck and decoy carvings, and feathering techniques.

I LOVE THESE KNIVES!
I am somewhat new to carving and I wanted a set to help me start figure and chip carving as well as spoons. These knives are amazing! They are razor sharp out of the box and all I need to do is run them over a strop and they are razor sharp again. I've used several styles of carving knives, but these are my go to 90% of the time. The are amazing with figurines and smaller detail work on spoons, etc. Will stay with Flexcut. They are worth every penny.

Great starter kit
I bought a set of these knifes and love them. The biggest thing about these knifes would be how well they hold an edge. The con is learning to keep them sharp.

Poorly made
The blade is only in about an inch and epoxied in. After a month of light use the blade on one came out. The company did replace it without question saying they had had that problem before.

Good Starter Kit
I bought these for my dad who is just starting out carving. He does small projects and loves the knives! They didn't look very sharp when I received them, but I took one out of the package ... they are razor sharp! Very comfortable in your hands!

A quality product.
The knives in the kit are professional quality tools. However, Flexcut offers a 3 knife kit that comes complete with tool roll and includes the pelican knife blade, which this kit did not have. Woodcraft should add this kit to their product line as well.
