Replacement Carbide Inserts for Byrd Shelix Cutterhead – 10-Pack
These replacement inserts are specifically designed to fit all JET and Powermatic jointers and planers that utilize the Byrd Shelix cutterhead. Made in Germany and certified with T10MG carbide, each insert is 15mm x 15mm x 2.5mm and has a Rockwell hardness of 92.1 – 92.6. Each individual cutter head is sharpened on four sides, allowing for indexing. If you happen to plane a nail or staple, it is not necessary to replace knives the full length of your planer head. Replace the two or three small knives that were affected, and you are ready to get back to work.

    Carbitde cutters for the Byrd Shelix heads

    I bought these at my Woodcraft store in Seattle, WA. There were some questions if these would fit the Byrd Shelix head that I have in my Dewalt 735 planer and they are an exact replacement for the original carbide cutters. Plus, these cutters are made in Germany. They fit and cut perfectly. I highly recommend these replacement carbide cutters.
