    Smooth Riffler

When I reviewed other companies selling the same item, there were numerous complaints about the description and the actual rifflers being different. There was also complaints about quality. I have no complaints and I think that they will serve me for years.

    Great

They work well in the specialized work that I do. They are essential in shaping deer antlers.

    Work as Advertised

Used to finish slots and notches of musical instruments. Would prefer that half of the files were a bit more aggressive for first passes.

    At the price very good

These file rifflers are the last you use to produxce a fine edge and finish. They are small and very useful for edges which are difficult to finish. Fine detail work only , if you work large carving or joinery go with the Corradi.

    Exactly what I expected

I use the riffler files to do detailed work when inletting components in the stock of flintlock rifles, especially around the lock and side plate.

    Teeth poorly cut

You get what you pay for. The teeth on these are poorly shaped, if at all. Some surfaces have almost no tooth or are inconsistently shaped, especially the side edges. Clearly the focus is on speed of manufacturing and low cost, rather than product quality. It's like someone in China was shown a decent riffler and asked how cheaply they could make a similar object. If you want something for casual work, these are fine. If you want to have precise and constistent control, like for shaping a carving, you're better to buy a few higher quality rifflers. That's what I'm going to do. Mind you, I'm keeping these just because the prices was so good.

    ?

Making woodcraft items, boxes, trays crosses, etc. Easy to use, do a good job. my first set of this kind of files. Would have liked a sturdier case.
