Tire

I was cutting a small wood piece on my 14" JET Bandsaw, using a 3/8" fine-tooth blade. Pulling the part back towards me caused the piece to hang up on the bandsaw blade in the piece, and the blade came completely off the upper wheel. If you have done this, you know how frightening it can be. Metal on metal noises erupt, as well as distinctive sketching sounds from the lower wheel spinning against the loose blade.

    Fits like a glove.

Bought this for my Porter Cable 14" band saw model PCB330BS and the tire fits perfectly. I couldn't be happier.

    Excellent Upgrade

New tires made my 20 year old Delta 14" bandsaw better than new! Fairly easy to install. I also added the Carter guides and tension spring. This is the fastest/best upgrade for any bandsaw.

Very pleased with band saw tune up

This was part of an over all bandsaw tune up including blades, low friction rub blocks, and tires. The combined effect was quite remarkable. I'm now only limited by my ability to set the machine up and am encouraged to take on more challenging projects. There is a bit of a knack to mounting the tires. Be sure to leave the tire in the hot water long enough so the plastic is fully up to temperature, then go for it.

    Carter Urethane Tire

Follow directions and it is no problem to install. This is a very good tire. I have had no slippage or any problems with it. When necessary I will replace it with the same tire.

    Buyer Beware

These tires do not fit all 14" bandsaws. Carter does not provide a list either. I purchased these for a 14" Grizzly G0555 only to find out after installation that the tires move from side to side on the wheel if the wheel is slightly wider than the tires. Apparently this is a known issue and Carter's solution is to spot tack the tires to the wheels with epoxy. Why not just provide a warning for customers on the packaging. Disappointing from such a quality company. A waste of time and money. I would not recommend these tires because of Carter's failure to make the buyer aware of the possibility of movement.

    tires

with they were 1" wide to better fit my saw, but they work 7/8" and the blade rides fine so far.

    My bandsaw works great

My Father gave me an 18 yr old bandsaw and all it needed were the tires. Instructions were very helpful. You have to let it warmup in hot soapy water for 5 min. and then put on. The top one went on fairly easy, but the bottom was harder. I ended up using two plastic grip clamps to hold my progress as I moved around the wheel. The blade runs true on the tires and I haven't had any problems.

    Lose your rubber tires!

Getting rid of the stock rubber tires on my 12 year old 14" Jet and installing these urethane tires made a HUGE difference in the performance of my saw. For the first time, my blades track perfectly, even after long resawing sessions. Installation was easy - just folow the directions to the letter. It helps to have a second person to help hold the wheel as the new tire goes on.

Easy to install and solved my problem

Installed on a Delta 14" with riser blocks. Took a while to get the trick of installing on the first one, but the second went quickly. READ and FOLLOW the instructions which are included and pretty well written.
