Students will learn to cut with lathe tools that will greatly eliminate sanding of the finished product. Students will complete one or two small bowls as time permits. Description: In this four-hour course the safe use of the table saw, methods of tuning up, caring for your table saw and the proper procedure for squaring lumber will be discussed. Each student will have the opportunity to observe and ask questions that pertain to the table saw and in some cases be able to perform operations that require hands-on training. Safety and safe use of the table saw will be emphasized at all times. Each student will learn the proper eight-step procedure for squaring lumber. Squaring lumber is an essential skill for making accurate projects and for conserving materials.

Description: This course will launch your home-improvement skills so you can tackle that shop, bathroom or kitchen remodeling projects. Part lecture, part demo, part hands-on, this class covers everything from the planning and design stage of your project to making an accurate take-off and materials list, to construction techniques. The instructor will demonstrate step by step the construction of the cabinet box, the face-frame using the Kreg Pocket Hole Jig system (you get the chance to practice the techniques) and then get to see how all of this goes together to make the final product. You will also learn how to construct a simple drawer box and learn a few options in constructing a cabinet door. We will teach you how to install the door using European style hinges. Ideas for more advanced door and drawer front options will also be discussed. You'll leave with a fundamental understanding of the entire process and ideas to customize these principles for your home project.

Description: In this four hour class students will be introduced to the safe use of the motorized miter saw in conjunction with cutting the corner joints for successfully installing crown and other types of trim. Unlock the mystery of cutting corner joints for all types of trim. The different types of mouldings and their uses will be introduced. Angle finding tools will be demonstrated and students will have the opportunity to use them while using the motorized miter saw to cut mouldings to fit. Students will fit moulding to inside corners, and outside corners while being introduced to the various tools required.
