Description: This core CNC class begins with a review of Vectric's 3D clipart types, a tour of the vast Design & Make library and strategies on importing 3D components from other resources. Using VCarve's 3D clipart library, students will learn how to place individual and multiple 3D models into their projects, manipulate 3D model specifications (such as height, tilting & fading), and add additional vectors necessary for visual interest and / or machining strategies. Students will also learn how to create and optimize 3D toolpaths to reduce CNC machining time and ensure overall success. Projects will include a 3D medallion, a 3D house sign, and a 3D shield + banner combo with text.
