This project was my first experience in turning these Travel Mugs offered in a kit by Woodcraft.  This is a relatively new kit with a screw top lid.  In our online ad, it states, “Create a custom travel mug using your favorite wood or mixed media to produce a one-of-a-kind dramatic effect.  You can either turn the outer liner using a stave configuration or simply use solid wood blocks.  Although this kit is for an experienced turner, you will find that the hollowing techniques are easy to execute, and the results are nothing short of amazing.

    Lathe Work made easier

    Purchased to replace some oldies that I have been using for years and were getting worn out. Lathe work can be tough on these tools but so far they seem to be doing okay. Could be a little thicker material and stronger joints. Will see what happens after a year or so of use.

    Each to his(her) own

    I can't trust my eyes anymore. I rely on precise proportions in my work. These instruments eliminate bifocal inconsistancies.

    Great value for the price. Nice sturdy set in a case. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five stars was because there was some sort of protective coating on them and it had to be cleaned before usage.

    Nice divider set!

    I just picked up turning and am using these with my new hobby. They feel very well made. The screw moves smoothly and I believe these will last for quite a long time.

    Good set. Good value for the money.

    The set was well made. But the outside calipers points were too sharp. I honed them smooth.

    Must like it have 4 bought on sale

    I do a lot of spindle turning and these are the best sets of calipers I have found for the money when on sale. I have 4 sets now in the shop for when I am doing spindles for such things as chair repairs and need to set them to different measurements to allow reproducing the spindles. To make things easy I have scribed a number on each caliper then I can story board and mark which number caliper to use at which spindle position.

    An excellent value. This set should be sufficient for most projects. The black crinkle finish should be a help in corrosion prevention. Machining is much better than the price would have one expect.

    Very good quality

    I am building scale model ships and was looking for a good set of dividers without having to spend an arm and a leg. This set has been very good and I am very pleased with the quality they have made the project much easier and less frustrating. Thanks
