Details

Rock Hard Maple ( Acer saccharum) is the most commonly used veneers for Longboard and Skateboard deck construction. Its characteristics of being hard, strong, and tough make for a great board. Whether it be skateboard or longboard, maple can hold up through all of the wear and tear.
Longboard and Skateboard veneer is typically produced in three grades or plys: Face, Core, and Crossband, and Core.
Features:
• This Skateboard Veneer Pack contains 7 plys/layers.
• Plys are 9-1/2" x 35"
• Perfect for standard skateboard
Face Grade material is what makes up the first and seventh layers of the skateboard sandwich and is what can be seen from the outside
Core Grade Material is the second, fourth, and sixth layers of the sandwich.
Crossband Grade is the third and fifth layers of the sandwich.
The wood grain goes in the same direction as the face grade and adds flexibility to the board when made in this construction. The grain goes across the direction of the other two grades and adds dimension stability.

    Rough Shape

I've purchased wood from woodcraft in the past and have always been happy with it. Not so with these. I usually order skateboard veneer from another seller online but was excited to find a semi-local place that carried them in stock. All the bundles in-store looked rougher and more dinged up than anything I have gotten from my other place. I choose the two bundles in the best condition based on the two outer veneers I could see in each pack, one skateboard, and one longboard pack. After cutting the bundles open at home, I discovered that several of the pieces inside were warped, severally cracked, badly chipped, or have voids from knots. Not what I would expect from $70 worth of veneer. I would not order this online sight unseen. If I was to buy these again in the store, I would ask to open the packs before purchase. I would consider these usable with some effort.
