A Tool with long list of Uses

This Sorby tool is shy about its capabilities. I have found it to be useful for much more than its name implies. I use it for making the straightest of lines on bowls, with thinnest kerfs up to much wider ones. I've found even the edges of the tool to be useful for adding line work on every type of vessel. Parting the project from a wooden faceplate is its strongest capability. It handles a parting job like cutting butter with a hot knife. Make sure though that you don't have small hands. This Sorby Parting Tool needs someone with a good grip to control it.

    Well worth the money!

Works great wherever thin cuts are needed. Can save lots of expensive, exotic wood. Works well for undercutting. Great for matching grain on fitted items i.e. lidded boxes.

This tool cuts beautifully. No burning. No tearing. Holds its edge for a long time.
