A totally unique, quick drying, water based grain filler and wood putty accepts stain beautifully or can be tinted. Never goes bad Easy to apply and clean up No shrinking, cracking or falling out. Does not become permanent until you apply a finish. If you're ever unhappy with the way it looks, the color, etc. – just water it down and remove it. If it freezes, simply put it in the microwave to warm it up or if it dries out, just stir in water. This allows for zero waste! This might just be the perfect wood filler. Manufacturer recommends using only stainless steel or plastic tools to apply because Timbermate may react with low grade steels and turn black. If this happens, simply add water and remove it, or wait for it to dry and sand it off.

Timbermate’s water-based woodfiller putty never goes bad. This is a 75 year old product that has been manufactured in Australia since 1992 and available in the U.S. since 2001. Woodcraft has been selling Timbermate’s woodfiller since 2008. It contains no acrylic or latex and is freeze-thaw stable. Woodcraft’s product development analyst, Kent Harpool calls this product, “garage stupid & idiot proof”, because it is reconstitutable by water and microwave, as well as being very easy to use.

    Excellent product

    I have several types on hand in the shop. The cherry and red oak match the wood perfectly. The filler dries quickly and is bonds very solidly to the wood. It sands smooth even to a 360 grit. I accepts stain the same as the existing wood. I keep a small cotton ball in the container to keep moisture in the filler, if it does start to dry out just add 3-4 drops of water. As many mistakes as I a make, this stuff is a must have.

    I make small note paper holders and I love the way this product blends with the wood I use ie; cherry red oak walnut and hickory. Thanks

    This product (in every color) it the best on the market, easy to use, easy to modify the color, accepts any finish and has a very long shelf life.
