    Consider Closely This Product

Very stable in gluing veneers. Things Go Wrong; can be corrected w/ a heat gun. More things change, more things remain the same. And recent 'enthusiast-press' reviews have shown that this ancient-now-synthesized adhesive is good-enough. But All Things Must Pass. This product and other adhesives have an usable life. Act accordingly. And figgur' what your cost of adhesives vs value of the finished product is worth.

    Just what I wanted/needed!

I use the hide glue for orchestral string instrument repairs.

    You need patience

I used this glue on wood. I like the long drying time because it allowed me more time to maneuver the wood pieces before they set. This glue does not take stain very well and clean up is not as advertised. Overall, I like the glue.

    Works good.

I used the hide glue because of the long open time. To re-glue an old chair. It worked GREAT for the me. I did find that it helps to warm it up in hot water. It helps in the spreading of it.

    As adverised.

Very slow to dry. Still tacky after one week. I would only recommend it for repairs where a hide type glue had been used orginally.

    Sticky Situation

I used the TB Hide Glue on my last woodworking project, with lots of Dovetail joints. Because of it's long open time, the glue up was manageable. I really like that it cleaned up easily and accepts finishes well.

    Better than expected

I had to reglue the veneer on a 50 year old curved table apron and I thought I would try this instead of boiling the powdered glue. This was a thick band of veneer and I was using many clamps, so it was fast and easy to apply. Had it been a thinner veneer and smaller pieces, I might have used the boiled version as it grabs like a dream when hot.

    Excellent & easy!

I'm re-doing a chest of drawers in 'crackle paint' finish. This product allows me to learn as I go. And, best of all, I received it much sooner than I ever expected!

    Making replicas of Indian artifacts

I make authentic replicas of American Indian Artifacts. When the hide glue is mixed with bone dust, animal hair, antler dust and/or saw dust it creates a filler that can not be beat! It can be shaped, sanded and drilled. The application is wonderful! When it dries, it's there forever. Great stuff.
