The Tormek honing compound is used together with the Tormek brand leather honing wheels. The combination of micro abrasives and polishing components (average grain size 3 micron) paired with the leather will effectively remove the burr created from sharpening, without damaging the edge. At the same time, it will also polish the bevel to the finest finish.

One application lasts for about 5–10 tools. Work the honing compound into the leather. The leather honing wheel will become saturated and more efficient the more you use it.

When you have a new honing wheel, impregnate it first with a light machine oil so that it gets the right texture and can absorb the honing compound.

If you work in a dry climate, you might need to re-impregnate the honing wheel after some time with a few drops of oil before you apply fresh honing compound. Do not let the compound dry, apply more oil if necessary.

  • Use on the Tormek leather honing wheels to create a razor-sharp edge
  • For use with the Tormek T-7 and T-3 leather honing wheels.

Even if you don't own a Tormek machine..

Even though I don't own a Tormek sharpening machine, I like using this compound made by the same company. It lasts a long time, as a little bit goes a long way. I apply it to strops, but also to cotton webbing tape (re-upholstery webbing), for a final light polish on my knife blades. I purchased a tube a few years ago, and it is finally getting near empty.

    honing compound creates razor edges

doesn't take much. Use as directed for razor edge on whatever. I use it on turning chisels, knives, hand chisels, kitchen knives, etc.etc.

    My favorite stroping compound

This is very easy to apply to leather strops for honing, and is fast cutting for your polishing needs.

Very easy to use, and apply, Great stuff

The great thing about the PA-70 is the ease in which it is to apply to a strop. It also polishes up the grind marks on your tool very fast. The best compound that I have tried.
